vkm
Hello, I completed my 6 years in H1B and now in my 7th year. I don't have a copy of my approved I-140 and recently I got an offer with other company. Should I need a approved copy of my I-140 to transfer my H1B ? Will the I-140 receipt help to transfer H1B ? Thanks in advances for your responses. Link to comment

vkm
Thanks for the response. Bit more clarification is required for this query. I mean whether the receipt number is sufficient to transfer the H1B without any document ? Thanks again. Link to comment
Attorney_15
It might be enough, it should be enough since USCIS should be able to verify that it is approved but sometimes USCIS seems unaware of actions taken in connection with other filings for a person. So if a person is concerned about the risk associated with such a petition it might be a good idea to wait until the new employer's petition is approved before leaving the current employment. One should certainly consult with an experienced attorney for specific advice to make sure that the action(s) being taken are right for one's own situation. Link to comment
