Starting EB-1 (Multi national exec') while Canada citizenship application is in progress.

Hi,

  I am Indian citizen and I have applied for Citizenship in Canada after completing the residency requirements. Now, my employer wants me to travel to US on L1A and he is ready to begin EB-1 in US.

 

1. Can we even start the EB1 process while my Canada citizenship is in progress  or will it be a problem later on? 

 

2. If halfway thru I become a Canadian Citizen? since my Indian passport that has L1A has to be turned in for Canadian passport, what happens to my L1A status in US and my EB-1 application,

2. The process will still go on as the EB-1 petition is for you and not for your passport.
