Hello,

I had my H1B Visa Interview on Feb12th 2014 at Vancouver, Canada.

This is how the interview went:

Documents asked: I797, Pay Stubs, Employee letter, US DL,LCA....

Questions asked:

- Are you working full-time? Yes

- What is your base salary? Told him

- Did you do your masters? Which Univ? When did you graduate? When did you start working? Told him

- Where do you work? Told him Texas..

- He saw my LCA and DL and asked me your address shows Oklahoma, while you work in Texas, where is the LCA amendment which shows the new job location?? Why is your salary on LCA less than what you are saying? I told him that I work for same company but just changed the location recently as I got promotion and hence an increase in salary....He insisted that the LCA should have the current employment address, went inside and came back after few minutes, gave 221g white slip, which shows that other document (new LCA with updated job location) is needed for processing the VISA. He kept my I797 and DS160 and asked me if I need passport, I was just thinking and he gave back the passport to me....

Came back home, called the employer and explained the situation. He sent me the new LCA with the new job location. As per the instructions on 221g, I emailed the same to US consulate (vancouverap@state.gov) same day afternoon.

Now, I am stuck in Vancouver. I want to know if anyone else had the same situation recently. I was under the impression that since I had already sent the document, it should not take too long to approve my Visa, but I have not heard anything from them yet. No response to the emails..Should I send it to other two email IDs(VancouverFPU(AT)state.gov; vancouverNIV(AT)state.gov) as well??

How long does it usually take for cases like this? Further, having two holidays in the next week (Monday and Wednesday) does not help. I checked the status online using my DS160 ID at

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx%C2'>

But throws an Application error on the website, tried on Chrome and IE with no luck....

It is very frustrating not knowing how long to wait...Need help....

Thanks,

Harish.

Wait for an update from consulate asking for your passport this week. Based on what you say everything should be ok.

Does this mean that if a person has a license from State of Wisconsin and then joins a new job in California next year with the LCA of CA and DO NOT get an updated Driver's license, the consulate will issue 221G because as per DMV rules, you did NOT obtain a new drivers license of CA?
