221g blue slip

I went for H1b stamping in chennai on Dec 19th 2013 and got 221g blue slip asking me to give two extra docs(vendor-client contact and client letter)

 

My client does not give end client letter and just got the vendor-client contract. Submitted vendor-client contract and emails from my clients to prove that I work at client site on Jan 2nd 2014 along with passport.

 

Embassy returned my passport without h1b stamping on Jan 17th and 221g blue slip saying that they need additional administrative processing time.

 

I got an email on Feb 14 2014 for pickup. The contents of email are below:

 

Dear XYZ, 

Your document(s) have been collected from the US Embassy/Consulate 

The passport number being returned is XXXXXXX

You have chosen to have your documents delivered to the following location: 

Chennai, No 3 Cenotaph Road, Chennai, 600018 

 

My question is, how do I know if they have decided to give me H1B stamping or have they refused my h1b stamping?

 

How does a standard h1b visa stamping approval/refusal look like?

You will get another mail asking to submit your passport if approved or else the reason for denial.

If they have rejected your H1B stamping they doesn't need your passport. I guess they are going to approve it, that's the reason they need your passport. This is my guess. People chime in ...

Passport has been returned back to OP as additional processing time is required.

Looks like administrative processing is completed and your visa would be stamped.

Hi All, 

I am also waiting for 221g status update. On Nov 17th attended the interview in chennai consulate. VO asked me about my US company. I told him about the same. Then he asked me to provide client letter and SOW which I provided the same. After verifying it for some time he handed over me blue slip just checking one check box saying administrative processing. They have not taken my i97 or petition document or passport from me. They don't have any document for my case. It's been more than 10 weeks since this happened. Let me know if any one is in same boat as me.
