Non-Immigrant09
Guys, Calgary---Check you Visa Stamp when you collect you passport and make sure you have everything correct. I had my visa interview at calgary on Feb 3rd, received passport on Feb 4th and I saw that annotation part is blank on my Visa stamp, where generally there should be 'Employer Name and Petition Receipt Number', I Should have stayed back and get it corrected there itself, but since I planned to fly back US on the same day, feb 4th, I couldnt do that, and luckily I got throught Customs. It will not be the case everytime, there are high chances It could cause some problem at Customs if I return from India next time. Im trying to figure out how to get it corrected now. I contacted the Calgary US Consulate and below is the reply I got from them. Good Afternoon, Thank you for your inquiry. Please return the passport along with your I-797 to the Consulate in order to have the visa corrected. You may drop the passport off at our office Monday-Friday 8:00-11:00 or you may courier it back to our office via Loomis. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Non-Immigrant Visa Section1000, 615 MacLeod Trail SECalgary, Alberta T2G 4T8 I'm not sure but I heard sending passport out of country via mail is illegal, and moreover consulate generally don't mail passports out of country (need to check if they do in any exception cases). Im still trying to figure out what to do. Any suggestions please. Thanks in Advance Link to comment

MrPraveen
In calgary Loomis, when they give you the passport they tell you to check everything before leaving from there. You should have checked it there itself and returned to them and they would have fixed it. Since you are done with stamping right so it is better now to go back to calgary personally and drop the passport to make sure everything goes well. You never know what's going to happen to your passport if you post it, cant rely on overseas shipping services. Link to comment
