a999 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Share Posted February 5, 2014 one of my frnd got h1-b approved( he works in india) and planning to go for stamping in march but he is willing to bring his mother also along with him to usa bcz she is the only person he have in his family. is it possible for both of them to attend visa interview at time. or is it mandatory that he has to be in usa before inviting her mother to visa usa ?? Visitor visa is independent of H1B visa. And, I hope your friend knows that his mom cannot stay more than the time given in I94. Link to comment

It is a visa to visit US. Whether you have someone in US is not of much concern to VO. Can she demonstrate strong ties to home country and has intentions of coming back?
