visa stamping in canada

Hello,

My husband is on H1 B and is till september 2015. I am on H4 and we want to get our I-94 stamped as it got expired in September 2013. We are planning to go to canada.

1. Do you know about the time it takes in Canada for I-94 processing, as we have to plan our stay there?

2. My husbands passport is expiring in July 2015. Should we renew the passport and then go to canada for I94 stamping or the other way?

3. Which state in canada we should plan to stay, as there are lot of embassies and not sure whether all the embassies do the visa stamping?
