H4 stamping after CoS

Hi,

My wife came here on F1 visa in October 2007 and completed her MBA. She was on OPT for a while and her H1B was approved in October 2011. Since then she is doing job, but she has not travel outside of US, so she does not have H1B visa stamped on her passport.

On my part, I came to US on H4 visa in June 2012 and later changed my status to H1B in October 2012. I have H4 visa stamped in my passport, but not H1B.

Now my wife is seeking to change the status to H4 and when it is approved she wants to travel to India.

My question is,

1. Does she need to get H4 visa stamped on her passport when she travels even if the CoS is already approved in US?

2. Since I do not have H1B stamped on my passport, if she goes for H4 stamping, will there be any issue?

3. If she changes the status from H1B to H4 and seek to reenter in US with H4, what kind of visa interview questions she may have to answer?

Please help me understanding the facts.

Thanks,

Hitesh

1. Yes. Visa is an entry documents.

2. No issue. She needs to have a copy of your I797.

3. Nothing much as her visa is based on your H1B status.
