Visa Approved Vancouver - Jan 13

Hello all,

 

Thanks to Murthy forum and all who have and are sharing info on this forum. My time has came to share my experience.

I want to share my visa stamping experience in Vancouver, Canada on 13th Jan, 2014. First time H1B visa stamping.

F1 - H1B 

 

After all the regular formalities (Security check, Finger scripts and routine stuff)

 

VO: Greetings

Me: Greetings

 

VO: Reason for your visit

Me: For H1B stamping

 

VO: Is this your first H1

Me: Yes Sir

 

VO: Highest Degree

Me: Masters of Science

 

VO: Which university

Me: XXX University

 

VO: Is your university accredited when you took your degree

Me: No (It has BPPE approval and Sevis approval)

 

VO: Approval is different from Accreditation

Me: It has applied for Accreditation - its in process

 

VO: Masters from non-accredited university, how can I approve Visa to you ?

Me: Explained 

 

VO: What's your Major and did you took CPT

Me: MSEE. No I haven't took CPT

 

VO: You attended all the classes in-person

Me: Yes Sir.

VO: That's good thing you have done

 

VO: What about Bachelors 

Me: Engg. four years degree

 

VO: B.Tech ? which university

Me: Yes B.Tech from JNTU

 

VO: What did you do after Masters

Me: Immediately started working on OPT, OPT extn and now on H1B for the same employer XXX

 

VO: Oh ! you have been with same employer ? how long

Me: Yes. I'm with XXX company from almost 4 years

 

VO: Do you have end client ?

Me: Yes. YYY company

 

VO: What ?

Me: YYY company 

 

VO: What do they do ?

Me: briefed about the company

 

VO: Roles and Responsibilities at Client

Me: Explained (same as in Employer letter, DS form, Client letter)

 

VO: How long you have been working for that Client

Me: More than 3 1/2 years.

VO: 3 1/2 years good

 

VO: How does your Employer pay

Me: Bi-Weekly

 

Then at that time he took passport and I-797

 

VO: Give me your LCA, DL, Paychecks, I-129, Employer offer letter

Me: provided all the docs.

 

VO: Verified the LCA amount, Paycheck amount and amount mentioned in offer letter.

 

Handed me a form, and told me to review it later to understand rules / law and report if you have problems with the Employer and said my Visa is approved and given me  another form to tell me how to pick up passport and said it will take 3-5 business days to get my passport. 

Me: Thank you! Have a nice a day BTW Happy New Year and he replied the same.

 

and Good luck to all out there for their interview. 

 

** Make sure and carry all the documents - All college related doc's as well, project work, Thesis, Internship form if any.

Thanks for sharing your experience. How to check if a university is accredited? My university website states that it is accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Is this a valid accreditation?.
