mohsin100
I recently finished my PhD in Canada - I have been offered a post doctorate position at a University in US. The university is requesting a J1 visa on my behalf. I also have immigration visa in process - the case has been approved and waiting for visa availability which may take 3 to 4 years. I am wondering by getting a J1 visa how my immigration application would be affected. Would this disqualify me getting the green card. Thanks for your help. Regards, M.Mohsin Link to comment
pontevecchio
Did you Inform the US University about your Immigration petition? What classification are you talking about and which is your country of birth? Link to comment

Regards, M.Mohsin If you have an immigration (Green Card) application in process then you will not get a J1 visa. You have to think about entering US with a TN visa. Link to comment
