Stamping at a different consulate other than the one listed on I797

Hello,

         I had applied for my 7th year extension based on my PERM while i was in Canada. My employer has moved be back to India while it was being processed and now i have it approved.

 

The I797B has Ottawa as the consulate. However, since i am in India, could i get it stamped here or do i have to travel to Canada to get it stamped?

You can get stamped in the home country which  in this case is India

Yes. You can only start working after the VISA interview in Ottawa. 

 

But there is a chance you can go to your home country.
