H1B approved but didn't get the I -797

Hi, 

 

I went for the H1B stamping today, and the lady at the interview counter asked a few questions , after which she told me "Your Visa is approved and you will receive a sms or an email in 2-3 business days", but she didn't return my I-797 form.

 

Is this any sort of query ? Does this means my case is under query.

 

Anyone faced this issue ? Please provide updates .

You will get it along with your passport.

Last year in Vancouver, they held my passport and I797. I got both via postal service.

To answer in precise, this is usual to keep your I797 along with passport.

If you dont get back I797 with passport, then take to embassy or take legal advice on how to proceed.
