My sister is in India and she applied for H1b this April and her petition was approved in September. Now, she had to apply for a new passport as her old passport was about to expire soon. As she got married, she had to change her last name in her new passport. She is planning to go to h1B visa stamping this month in India. Will be there be any problem with the change in her last name. Her H1B petition (filed with old passport) has her last name as "XX" and now her new passport has the last name as "YY". She has her marriage certificate. Do you foresee any issues with her upcoming stamping.

She has to carry both passports and marriage certificate at the time of interview.

I have a question regarding the H1B stamping after name change after marriage.

My wife is on H1B visa and working in US. She recently changed her name after marriage and got a new Indian passport with updated last name from Indian consulate in US. Her extended I-797 has her name before marriage. Now she is travelling to India for H1B stamping. She will be submitting her documents in Mumbai consulate for visa stamping via the Dropbox procedure. We needed to know if there will be any problem with the H1B stamping as her new passport has the updated last name and her I-797 has her name before marriage. Is it fine if we submit the all the documents with the copy of the marriage certificate.

She has been with the same company before and after the marriage and has extended I-797 from that company only.
