amithi
Hi, Thanks for all support and effort going on. It is time to share my experience today Nov 13 at Embassy in Jamaica. I'm in EVC Model. Working in client site. Here are my questions and documents verification. 1. Give me your tax doc - I provided my 2012 Tax document. 2. Is this XXX your annual salary as per taxes? - No, I had a raise this year. 3. Give me your LCA. - I provided my latest LCA. 4. Is this YYYY your pay per annum (New Pay quoted in LCA per annum) -Yes 5. DO they pay you YYY for sure? - Yes, they me YYY amount as per LCA. [He didn't verify my pay stubs or W2. But I heard they might check them too] 6. Where do you work, Client Site? Yes I do work off-site at Client location. 7.How many days did you book your travel to Jamaica? - 1 Week stay. 8. Is your previous Visa with same employer? - Yes, I'm with same employer? 9. Are you with employer during OPT? - No, I changed my employer? [He didn't check any documentation related to this.] He mentioned to collect passport on Mon after 2pm. At last he commented, Please post in your portals to ask everyone to come for a week atleast. We also need enough time to verify everything. [They are not checking portals but with the experience and requests for early processing, they want to inform us to come for at least 1 week prepared after interview. They don't like being requested for faster processing.] So make your plans accordingly. They check key docs randomly [W2, Taxes, LCA, Pay Stubs, I-129, and in few cases old I-797 and OPT I-797 as well for first time H1bs] and questions related to your work, employer and client. It is similarly handled in most places i guess. But Jamaica Immigration will provide Visa on site. Good Luck! Link to comment

amithi
Passport pickup is currently scheduled at 2pm. If you plan to return flight on same day of passport pickup, make sure you reach airport by atleast 2 hrs (3hrs is recommended) before your flight time -- This is being considered as international travel. They will not allow you if it's < 2 hrs. If you don't find flight same day, better to plan next day than trying to go same day. Link to comment
