My priority date is 2/13/2007 and have been living and working in the US even before that using HB1. I received my GC in April 2013. I don't want to wait another 5 years to apply for Citizenship. Since I have been living in the US for more than 5 years while waiting for the GC, is it possible? It just doesn't make sense to have to wait another 5 years to apply for citizenship. Please advise.

I believe it is 5 years after you get a GC.

What is the rush? I want citizenship. I want the blue United States of America passport. It has been a lifelong dream. I guess waiting another 5 more years is the only option. Thank you all for the feedback.

all the best to you for realizing your dream.

The immigration system is broken and in need of fix; you have to wait another 5 years. But with green card, you still are in a better position than those who are waiting for EB immigration process to conclude. Then there are others who are waiting in the EB queue whose children aged out.
