OPT Extension Dilemma

I am working at COMPANY X on my Post Completion OPT. Although COMPANY X is e-verified, they have stopped extending OPT/STEM and I have to quit the company on January 07th, 2014 (When my post completion OPT expires).  I have few questions:

 

SCENARIO A

I have a part time offer from a everified COMPANY Y and I want to join it with my current OPT. Can I continue working at COMPANY X and COMPANY Y (multiple jobs) on the current OPT, till it expires on January 07th, 2014?

 

SCENARIO B

Also, I want to apply for OPT extension through Company Y as it is everified. To apply at USCIS for STEM extension using form I-765, Do both company X and Y need to be Everified? I will be quitting company X after current OPT expires and continue working at Company Y)

Both the companies need not be e-verified. Only Company Y needs to be e-verified because after extension you are going to work with them.

OPT extension is not applied 'through' any company. The company has nothing to do with OPT extension except that they need to be enrolled in EVerify. They should give you their EVerify number and you apply for the extension yourself. Do it immediately.

 

You can work multiple jobs while on OPT, but all jobs must be in your field of study and while on OPT extension all employers must be enrolled in EVerify.

Both the companies need not be e-verified. Only Company Y needs to be e-verified because after extension you are going to work with them.
