EB2 - Major for Advanced Degree not in the same field as required

Recommended Posts

Dear All,

The job requirement for the Automotive company I am working does require a masters (advance) degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, which automatically qualifies to be an EB2 category.

I do have a masters degree in US, but it is in Petroleum Engineering and my company does not want to file with EB2 category.

I am really eligible for EB2? I looked for this topic in many forums but no one seems to be in my position before.

Please advice.

Thanks,

Mayur

Your advanced degree is eligible for EB2.

But the job for your GC will decide the category, not your degree.
