canuck123 Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Hello, I own a Canadian incorporated business for which I am the sole employee. Most of my clients are in the US and I wish to set up an office in the US with hopes to obtain an L1 visa for myself. Is this possible? My long term goal is to apply for a green card. What is the process for achieving this? Is an L1 visa an easier route and less risky route to obtain a green card or should I be considering the EB5 program in which I will invest my own funds? thanks
Attorney_23 Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 To obtain an L-1, the business abroad must remain active. As the sole employee, this likely will not be possible. Are you a Canadian citizen? If so, perhaps an E-2 would be a better option.
