murthyfm Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 Murthy Forum has been really helpful, it my turn now. Successful Visa interview process Toronto. Was in line at 7:30 AM for 8AM interview. 1) There would be two lines: right line is for visa guys, left lane for American citizens. Cell phones, big hand bags are not allowed as advertised. But, in some cases, there is counter to deposit them and pick them back after you are done. 2) A person will come and check your visa appointment letter and DS-160 Confirmation page and passport while you are in the line. Take them out and keep ready. 3) Next they will send u inside the consulate where security check will happen, same as in airport. 4) Next you will be asked to stand in line where one more person will again take your passport, ds form and appointment and confirm your passport pick up location in my case Brampton and he will stick some kind of barcode to the passport. He will keep all of them in a blue file and give it to you. 5) Next comes the seating area, which will have 10 windows and about 50 person seating area. This is where the whole process happens. 6) First when you enter the room, they will make you stand in line and one by one be called to the counter where the person takes Ur file and I-797 form, this is where they will confirm your PIMS and right something on the DS form. They will keep the blue file and the I-797 form consisting of Ds form, appointment letter and passport and will give you a token. 7) You should wait until your token is called and displayed on one of the windows. The first time they call you to take the finger prints, first left 4 fingers, and then right 4, and then the two thumbs. Keep your fingers together. This is where they will also check the photo on DS confirmation page and will let you know if they need a new photo. If you didn't upload a photo, they will ask you for one. Then, you will be asked to wait for the interview process in the same seating area. 8) Then, the second time they will again call your token for the interview process, token numbers will be displayed on the counters, so keep listening and looking at the counters since multiple counters will be calling and displaying simultaneously. Questions: • if this is was first h1 or renewal? • if i did my masters and from where? • what i did at the school and courses? • specialization in MS? • if my employer was as same in i-797 form? • if i was married and have any kids? • how long i have been working for the employer? • do you have a client? • my client information and what my client does? • my responsibilities at the client place? • salary? • my w-2 and tax returns? • my pervious employer? and why i have 2 2011 w-2's? two employers, so 2 w-2's.. • then asked who my supervisor is? • where my company was located, city name and does it have any branches? • asked where my supervisor is located and how i communicate with him? • then asked who will assign you the work? • how often and how do you communicate with your employer? • how long have you been working with the employer? verified my w-2 and tax returns for a long time and said my visa was approved and gave me human rights booklet and white paper with general details regarding passport pickup and said it will take 3-5 business days to get passport. Tips: starbucks a block away where most applicants wait. osgoode subway station is the nearest one. Take 2-3 deep breaths after each step, that will relax you and be confident. Answer to the point and if you don’t understand or hear properly, ask and they will repeat. Most of the time, they keep typing and listen simultaneously. Don’t be nervous, and ask if you can keep the file on the counter while answering the questions if it is heavy. ALL THE BEST…..
Sai9690 Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 Hi, I am on EVC model working at client location. I communicate with my employer weekly sending the status report.. Generally client manager assigns me to multiple projects internally based on the requirement. Would it be an issue if we mention that client manager assigns me the work ? What would you suggest the best answer would be regarding that? What did you say?
murthyfm Posted October 28, 2013 Author Report Posted October 28, 2013 yes, I suggest you say client manager assigns the work after discussing with your employer/supervisor. That way the employer control is maintained.
