Master's degree obtained from a private university is not eligible to be considered under Master's quota.
catx Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 The question regarding a private university is "for profit" versus "non profit". A private non-profit university is fine for USCIS requirements e.g. masters degree quota, etc. These non-profit private universities often have a religious affiliation. "Non profit" versus "for profit" is an official designation with things like the IRS. You can find out if an university has official "non profit" status. In general stay clear of "for profit" private universities, as their motives are not necessarily education and there are restrictions in USCIS filings.
