I was working on valid OPT (F1 status) till Sep 30, 2013. My school terminated SEVIS starting Oct 1st as my H1B kicked in on Oct 1st.

Though my H1B petition was approved way back in July 2013 but the consular at the consulate told me he is withholding my case for review as he sees some SEVIS violation.

I am not sure what violation did he mean?

Please help and share your experience/expertise.

Did your wife start working from Oct 1st 2013 as I believe her H1B was filed as change of status? Also, if you check this forum there are lot of posts based on CPT abuse during studies. Was your wife's CPT as per law?

I have been lawfully working on CPT with valid  I20s issued by school abiding SEVIS guidelines.

So here it is, I have been working with ABC Employer since 2012 on Full Time CPT work authorization printed on I20 and hence just a status change was invovled from F1 to H1B from October 1st 2013 onwards..... Cant understand where the SEVIS Violation came from?

There are few members in this forum who are experts on CPT. Wait for their comments
