dennisverma Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Hi, For Non IT background candidates (Mechanical, Biotechnology, EEE etc), Toronto consulate is issuing 221g by default, they are asking standard questions like What is your higher degree, What is your project and giving grenn slip. I have seen nearly 10 cases here and its been 4 weeks for me with 221g. So giving an alert to non it background candidates who are planning to Toronto consulate. Thanks..

anaatons79 Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 Anyone faced same problem in vancouver ? Am not 100% sure, but recently i heard about an incident about the same issue. They asked him about his filed of study and work. study was in non-IT filed, and he's working in IT. So his visa was not stamped in Vancouver. (This was happened 4 days ago...to me this is a genuine issue, but i am not sure about the person)
JoeF Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 This is going to happen everywhere. For an H1, you need to have a degree in the field of the work. Period.
smuppala02 Posted October 27, 2013 Report Posted October 27, 2013 I'm in the same boat. Mechanical engineering background. Interview date was Oct 7th, date updated on ceac website to Oct 16th. Status still shows administrative processing.
