Validity of H-1B Transfer

I am with company ABC. There is a possibility that I may quit ABC and join XYZ for better prospects.

 

Question: If XYZ sponsored H1B gets approved, say for 3 years; for how long does the XYZ sponsored H1B remain valid without my joining XYZ? (I would like to stay with ABC for as long as I can since my GC is being processed through ABC).

6 years - time spent on H1B. Or till ABC revokes your petition which I believe ABC will do immediately once they know you are not joining them.
