keitaroabe Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Hi, I need a help about my visa status. I am resigning from my company and leaving the USA permanently next year. I know there is no grace period after you quit your job under H1B status, but I am from Japan and Japan is one of countries USA allows citizens to enter and stay without B visa under Visa Waiver Program. Do I still need to switch from H1B to B1/B2 visa if I want to stay for a week or two after my resignation to finish packing and hang out with my friends? If so, can I obtain B1/B2 without leaving USA? Thank you in advance for those who will reply.
