Qus: Affidavit of support from my spouse for GC if i am on H1-B ?

Hello,

 

I am on H1-b and my spouse is US citizen. I want to file my GC on marriage basis.

 

Do I need affidavit of support from my spouse ?

 

I read on USCIS website under when not to submit affidavit of support and it says, "An individual who has earned or can be credited with 40 qualifying quarters (credits) of work in the United States".

 

Don't know exactly what does that means. So if somebody could help me with this info, that will be highly appreciated.

Look up your SSA statement. You can also use I-864A to use your earnings to qualify.
