vishwa_84 Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 Hi, My wife entered US on a H4 visa. I applied for her status change to F-1. We got the status change approved and she is currently on F-1 status. We are planning to travel to India early next year for a private occasion. I know that she needs to get her F-1 visa stamped if she wants to enter US. I have some questions w.r.t to her visa stamping. * Since her F-1 status is approved is she on the safer side for visa stamping or the risk doesn't change? * Also please note that I have my I-140 approved in the permanent residency process. I still haven't added her as a dependent in this process. Does this change her risks any further? * Also if her F-1 visa gets rejected, will her current H4 visa also get cancelled? Thanks Vish
omshiv Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 What risk are you referring to? I dont see any risk in her getting F1 stamped on her passport. Your I-140 would not affect her approval chances. Go ahead without fear. Good luck.
julieanto2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 My case is similar to the above Vishwa_84 and i am travelling this December. My questions are: # 1. Do i need to show financial documents which equals the money for my whole course? I am only left with one more semester and i have already paid 80% of my course fee. So, while going for the interview do they expect me to show the full amount or the amount that is left? # 2. How much time does it take to get the stamping done and receive my passport. I am going for a short 2 weeks trip. Please help!!
