svd123 Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 Hi, I recently changed my employer while in US. I have a visa stamped from eployer A which is valid till March 2014. I also have received I797 from employer B. After joining employer B, is my stamped visa still considered as valid? I am planning to travel to India in Month of Jan 2013, i certainly need to get the new visa stamped before coming back to US. However, do i need airport transit visa for countries like France and Germany (I know UK requires transit visa)? I cheked the French and German consulate websites for transit visa requirement. As per them, a person do not need a transit visa, if they have valid US visa stamped. At this point I am not sure, if my stamed visa from my old employer (which is not expired) is still considered as valid. Can you please advice? Thanks.
omshiv Posted October 9, 2013 Report Posted October 9, 2013 your stamped visa is valid till March 2014..so that means you DO NOT need stamping when you are in India..unless you are coming after March 2014. Yes you do not need Transit visa if you have a Valid US Stamped Visa on your passport. You are fine...while returning back just carry all your new H1 related documents and show 797 at POE.

Yes, your visa is still valid and you can transit through schengen countries without a schengen visa. You can transit through UK also without a transit visa.
