Currently H4-H1-H4. Is my H1 still valid?

Hi,

I entered US in april 2007 on an H4. Got my H1 in october 2007. got stamped for H1 when i went to india in Feb 09. worked till 2010 April. Been on H4 since then. I havent finished my 6 year of working and I want to work on H1 again. My last H1 visa, 1-797 expired on July 2011. Can I use my previous H1 or I have to for the next year quota.

Yes, you can.

you can ask the employer to file for your H1B..you do not fall in the quota.
