sameer24p Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 Hi All, I was on a H1-B visa in USA working for an employer. However, I quit the job and moved to Singapore in Sept 2012. My passport still has H1-B visa validity as Sept 2014 (same for my wife H4 expiry date Sept 2014). Now I am planning to join the same employer and return back to US. In this scenario, I want to know how it works ? Does the company have to file a totally new H1-B ? My LC was already approved and the company had filed for my GC (priority date Aug 2007), my H1-B status started from 2005 and has been renewed 2 times... Also does my SSN from before still be valid or I have to apply from scratch ? I have been in US for 10 years before moving to SG. I appreciate your responses and help in this matter. Thanks Sam
aru27 Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 I think you will need a new H1B, since you have already exhausted your old H1B years. otherwise there is a cap exempt filing. SSN# will remain same. You need to go to SSN office and apply for a new card but the old ssn# will be activated thats all. Wait for others to answer your visa stamp q's
