ramreddykethireddy
hi guys, I have an issues with my 797, Here it is. I have on h1b (valid from Mar 2011 to December 2013) since Mar 2011. I worked with the same client till April 2013.Then I moved to another client and have been working with this new client. so my employer applied for h1b extension with new client which start from January 2014 (valid till December 2016) Since my f1 visa expired long back, I can't go for stamping on new h1 which starts from 2014 at the same time I can't use my old h1 which has valid till December 2013.(I have to go India immediately to solve my personal issues) So my employer again applied h1 which is started on September 19th 2013 valid through August 2016. Now I have two 797s, one is valid from september 2013 to August 2016 and the second one is valid from January 2014 to December 2016. I want to go for stamping for the 797 which is valid from september 2013 to August 2016. So my questions are: 1) would there be any problem arise because of the h1 which is valid from January 2014 to December 2016. 2) Does VO know how many h1b's I have? I am planning to go for h1 stamping on October 10th 2013. Please let me know what kind of question I would face. Thanks In advance! Link to comment
ApplicantH1B
Hi, I may be not entirely correct, but far as my knowledge only ONE 797 is valid for a person at the same time. This is what PIMS database is supposed to take care of. You might want to check that but I believe that is the case. Good luck for your stamping Link to comment

A person can have more than one I797 based on number of H1B petitions approved. I would suggest you to show the one that is valid from Sept 2013. Link to comment
