Changing Jobs after GC when not working with sponsoring company

Hi,

 

I was wondering if anyone has any insight into this.

 

My GC was sponsored by company A 10 years back and I worked with them for 6 years after the application was made before moving on to another company.

 

Most articles seem to indicate that one should remain with the sponsoring company for at least 6 months after receiving a GC. (I assume this is if you are still working for the sponsoring company)

 

However since I am no longer with the company that originally sponsored my application, once I get my GC, can I change jobs immediately since my current employer is not the employer that sponsored me. (My current employer has played no role at all in the GC process).
