How to get I-140 Receipt number

My employer filed my i-140 3 weeks before and he is not sharing the i-140 receipt details, any idea how to get it. Will infopass appointment help?

If he is not willing to share the information about your immigration, how can you trust this guy??

No, you can't get it at InfoPass. FOIA is the only way. Then again, working for this company is a big mistake.

for FOIA should I need to wait until it gets approved or I can submit FOIA now. Also just giving a try with Infopass appointment will help or this will affect my i140 case decision

So when an employee requests some info via FOIA doesn't it mean that employer is violating immigration rules??Bcos employer is not sharing the details with the employer which he is supposed to do.

No. The employer needs to share the details when the actual permanent job offer is made to the employee, and thus he is filing the I-485. FOIA means that the government owes the information to the individual, not the employer.

 

FOIA will give you the information they have on you as of the date the request is completed. If you think the application is filed, then it should show it.

I am in same situation...my 140 is filed and in process....employer is not sharing the receipt number...can i file FOIA right now to get the receipt number or wait until it gets approved?

Does it mean, we can get receipt number from FOIA before it is approved...i understand its a big mistake to work for these kind of employers but got stuck with them now...
