Regarding H1B transfer

I want to know if I transfer my H1B to a new employer and after approval if I keep working at my old company, if that is possible./ any impact in future.

As long as your old employer has not revoked your H1B you are good to work for him/her.

why would you want to do that? what exactly is your situation?

I am not sure how long I can get on my H1B ext, if I transfer and get for less than 6 months (because GC filing not possible), then I dont to want to change to new employer. If get more than a year then only I want to join new employer. Thats why I wanted to know the situation. 

Please advice for the this situation.
