Here's the story:

1) used dropbox program(as I qualified for it) to submit the passport and documents

2) they called me for an interview( I had a DUI 2 years ago)

3) VO asked for medical examination. gave 221g.

4) medical done in mumbai (Rele Clinic)

5) after 5 working days, submitted the passport again(as per instructions)

6) after 4 days got passport back, with 221g, again, asking medical required.

called consulate customer service: same reply always> your case is already escalated and consulate will revert within 24-48 hours. It's been 1+ week. Total 6 business days.

called clinic: they say report delivered already. can not resend. Doctor asked me to send the letter, but it's been 2 days, no reply. (If I call, they say to call me in evening, and morning later. They also gave me the reference number, that I forwarded to consulate(customer service). No reply.

Not sure if the report is lost? if it's why Doctor can not resend it? If it's not, why aren't any one telling what's gong on?

Any one with similar case?

Hi saurabhg18,

I am planning on going for my visa interview in november and I had a DUI recently as well.

Can I ask you a couple of questions if you dont mind?

Is there an option to attend the visa interview and not choose dropbox even though one qualifies for it?

I do qualify for it but I want to attend the interview first (since it sounds like they will call you for an interview anyway).

Also - can you tell me about the timeline buddy? When did you submit the docs first and when were you called for interview and how that went and what medical tests were conducted?

Anything you can tell is much appreciated.

I am positive you will get yours soon enough. Good luck dude.

Do not travel, unless it's emergency.

Timeline:

I submitted document on wednesday. I got interview required letter next tuesday(they said you can walkin anyday).

went for interview on Thursday, gave 221g. Did medical on Friday.

Update:

they called me for interview again. rejected visa, based on section 212 a1 a3.

Trying to appeal. Stuck in India.

Also when you say 'recently' , how recently? It appears,(NOT SURE, NO PROOF), there is a clause of inadmissibility, if DUI is within 12 months.

@h1usaindia - Can you update your case on here? Did you finally get your visa?

In your 221(g) were you asked to submit your passport after 5 working days after your medical?

I am currently stuck in India, Mumbai for past 14 days.
