Prevailing wage questions

Hi all, 

 

I have following questions on PWD for starting my GC process. 

 

1) Can employer advertise in newspaper and file for PWD at the same time or employer should wait to advertise until PWD gets done.?

 

2) if requested Job title in PWD and assigned job title by labor dept. is different , can employer still proceed with original job title requested for PWD in newpaper ad ?

1) Yes, can advertise and file for PWD concurrently. However, if your prevailing wage comes back higher than the one used in the concurrent ad, you will have to do the advertisement again with the actual prevailing wage. So, you should have a good idea of the prevailing wage based on your job description or your employer would have to do advertisement again and be willing to spend that money again if need be.

(Did my ad prior to PWD two weeks apart, hence)

 

2) I believe you use your organization's job title in the ads, not the one determined by labor (unless both happen to be the same).

(My ad used my organization's job title, not the labor dept's).
