rk_1980
Hello, please can anyone answer my queries below? I was in US from Jan 2005 till May 2009 and I got my I-140 approved in March 2009. I have the priority date March 2008 and now it has become current. One of my friend recently told me that I can continue with GC processing even outside US. I did a bit of search on internet and it shows that I can apply for consular processing from India and can take 5 to 12 months processing time. Please can anyone answer few queries below? Do we need a job offer from US to apply for consular processing? I am no longer working for the employer who originally applied for my GC. But the I-140 petition status still holds good when I checked its status on USCIS page. Can you give me a brief overview of how it works, what forms need to be submitted and where? Since my PD became current, will there be any deadline before I need to apply for this? Do we have to apply from only in India or can we apply from any country outside US for consular processing? Currently, I live in UK and I am wondering if I can apply from here. Also, would the processing time be different if I apply from UK? Thanks for your help in advance. Link to comment
