Transfer on H1B and resignation

I would like to know when would be the right time to send a resignation when transferring the H1B visa to the new employer. 

I will have to serve a 15 day notice to my current employer. 

Questions: 
1.After getting the H1B receipt number (OR) After getting the H1B Approved. 

2.If I need to transfer after H1B is approved can I still continue to work with the old employer for 15 days resignation notice period? 

3.Will the old employer come to know of the H1B transfer once the H1B Transferred is approved?

(2) Yes, you can work during notice period.

(3) Nope, until you tell your employer.
