I did my master's in USA and this is my 2nd employer. I completed all my 12+17 months of OPT and applied for h1. VO asked me: 1) how long i have been in US 2) what does my company do 3) do i have bachelor's or master's 4) research based or course based MS 5) asked CV VO is the chinese guy. should be in late 20s to mid 30s. myself along with 2 other people were called into the counters inside the main room. my token# was 5 for the day! gave me a yellow form 221G. told me some administrative work needs to be done. usually takes 4-6 weeks. Any comments from experienced people especially from recent times, on how long it takes from now will be appreciated. also, i read sometime back that someone is tracking the log for 221G forms on here.... they can add this to the log or provide me a link and i will add it to the tracking list. Earnest Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 I think mine is the same situation, it has been 6 weeks since i submitted all the docs they asked for ; my interview was on July 29 and docs were submitted on July 31.
snoopreddy Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 Same here buddy.......221g blue ottawa Interview on 24th july in ottawa, BS in Biotech and MS in Bioinformatics both from US, lived in the country for almost 10 years.......currently working as a direct federal client in medical informatics with gov security clearance. Asked for resume and said it might take 2 weeks but its been 7 1/2 weeks now. Also know 4 other people who are waiting, 3 from Ottawa and 1 from Toronto with dates from july15th (toronto), 26th, 29th and Aug 27th. This is also my 2nd time 221g, First time i got it in India back in 2010 for F1 renewal. One tip..... if you have your I797A or I797C with you and you still have your I94 in your passport (the white card they give for port of entry).....you can try to go back with in 30 days (based on automatic re validation). You can call the border patrol and give it a shot.....comeback when your visa is approved and get the stamp....I know a couple people who were able to do that.....but its up to the border security to decide....if u explain to them nicely they will let u in...... The bad news is it will take some time for the processing, the good news is it has been moving faster....in the last 2 weeks. we came at a very bad time because june to aug is peak time for F1 students and their processing is given the first preference.......good luck

ven13 Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 Kalyan - Any update. I attended H1B on Oct 17 and got 221G. Same Chinese Guy took my interview and and issued 221G and asked me to wait 1 week.
