Another H1B Desi Consultant contract breach issue

I read the previous H1B contract breach issues on this forum. My previous employer sent an email marking his lawyer that i need to pay X amount for contract violation and X amount for processing H1B.

Whats puzzling me is that can you really mark a lawyer on an email and ask her to start leagal action to collect my H1 fees ?

I read in multiple posts that collecting H1 fees from the employee is not legal. I wonder how can a lawyer be marked on such email.

In any case, can a lawyer really send a notice asking me to pay the H1B processing fee ?

Any help is much appreciated.

Check your contract first and show it to a labor attorney if it is not crystal clear. I believe they could ask you to pay attorney fees but not your H1B filing fee. Wait for other members to respond.

If that email was really about H1 fee then I said you got a upper hand here.

An employer by LAW is not supposed to ask you H1 fee, you can now file a complaint against that FRAUD employer.
