How to check the status of H4 Visa, do my kids require separate H4

I would like to know how I can check whether my husband employer has applied for H4 visa or not, we have applied for L2 to H4 COS. How to check the status, what is the process to apply & do my 2 kids require to submit separate H4 application.

 

Also, do my employer will file H4 after H1, (L1 to H1b Cos) gets approved, Please help me to know the answer. Thanks!

It is not mandatory for an employer to file H4 for dependents. If employer has not filed then you need to apply for COS using I539 form and sending supporting documents with application fee to USCIS. You can file COS to all using one I539 form
