thuhili
currently working for company A in US. My L1b is expired. I94 is valid till May 2014. Applied for H1b with Company B and approved two days back. 1. Now to join company B on Oct1, I have to give to notice to company A. Notice period is 2 weeks. Say I give notice to company A and get relieved on 25th. Can I take take three days off(26-30th) and join company B on OCT 1. Is this allowed and be without a job for 3 days? 2. say the company A relieves me before the notice period expires, say sep 10th, I will be out of job for 20 days. Can I still stay till sep 30 and join company B on oct 1st? or should I go out of the country and return back with H1b stamping ? 3. After company A relives me, what is the maximum number of days i'm allowed to stay in US before I join company B on Oct 1st? Truly appreciating your support. thanks Link to comment

(2) You can not stay out of status for 20 days. If you want then you could go out of country get a H1B visa stamped in your passport and start working from Oct 1st. (3) By law zero days.
