immig75
I have EB3 waiting for backlog...planning to file new EB2 from future company. After filing I-140, my priority date would be current and I could port. My question is, is it mandatory to join the future company after getting GC? If I don't join, I heard in some forums that this could lead issue during naturalization/citizenship... Can anyone please give some feedback on this..it would be highly appreciable Thanks. omshiv
yes, thats correct. They are processing your GC because they have a job offer for you...if you just get your GC without joining them it will raise a flag with USCIS for fraud...dont do that.. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Is it not possible to work for the EB2 company for say an year and then move on? Why is the EB2 company filing for you if you are not interested? Link to comment

JoeF
Of course it is required to join the company. That's the whole idea behind an employment-based GC. The company has a job opening, and you are the one they want for the job... Link to comment
