Hi

My petetion for Extension was applied in mid of June 2nd Week, 2013 but still i don't see any updates from Vermont processing center. When i can see the latest status for processing times in USCS site, its show as on June 30, 2013 they are processing April 10, 2013 applications. What is the current status? anybody received approval notice after this time frame.

Thanks

Any one's  H1 Extension approved in normal processing after April 1st 2013? And the USCIS processing timelines are not updated very often its last updated on June 30, 2013.  I could see lot of Premium processing are approved but our org will not do PP for us.

My H1B visa extension petition was filed on April 29, and it is still in "initial review".  The last update on my case was May 7.  In recent discussions with my employer's immigration lawyer, he said that the Vermont Service Center April 10, 2013 processing timeframe date regressed after the June 30 report.  I even saw a rumor that the USCIS had deferred processing extensions in favor of new petitions so those people could start work on October 1 and extensions had the 240 day period of authorized employment and stay.  My lawyer did say he is now seeing some approvals from April visa extension filings.

Normally going into the 240 day period of authorized employment and stay past my visa and I-94 expiry date would be okay, and I have no problem with waiting.  However, my driver's license now also expires on the same day as my visa and I-94, and this is a big problem.  In October 2012 Texas implemented the SAFE system for verifying immigration status for drivers licenses, which the state admits does not recognize USCIS authorized periods of stay, as with pending H visa extensions and I-485 adjustment of status applications.  So I am going to have to change to premium processing (after 5 months) so I can renew my driver's license -- in other words my driver's license renewal is going to cost $1200.

I could see the processing time frame updated in Vermont on Sept 18, 2013 It seems there is no single petition is approved in normal processing for Extension since April 10, 2013.

Receipt date for my H1B extension is 11th April 2013 and it's still there with "Initial Review" status.  I need to go to back to india in mid october to attend an important occasion and not sure if i will be getting the extension approval before that.  Please update if there are any recent update on H1B extension approval.  Thanks.

I am also in the same scenario, applied extension on 13th Jun. I need to apply for PP as my license is expiring this month end.

You may not have to pay for premium processing to renew your driver license. If you check the "Tracker H-1B extension Vermont Service Center" topic and "Social Security Card and Drivers License : General" forum, you will find some recent see posts on the SAVE system used by Maryland, Texas (and other states) now recognizing the 240 day period of authorized stay and issuing a 8 month driver license renewal. You need to check with your state DMV. If they do use the SAVE system, then you will have go to the DMV office with your I-797C, Notice of Action, passport, driver license, and other related documentation to make a SAVE system case request. The one caveat is that this is a change in process and most people's experience is that the DMV office may not be aware of it, so be prepared to make multiple calls and have to travel to a DMV office that knows about the process.

Today i my Dl renewed from KY, with notice of action (petition recepit)..they renewed for one year(till 6-27-2014) but without SAVE request. So people speard the new which will help others who are waiting for extension approvals to renew DLs which is needful in day-2-day in US.

The I-129 H-1B - Specialty occupation - Visa to be issued abroad and H-1B - Specialty occupation - Change of status in the U.S. processing timeframes have finally advanced since the June 30 report -- all of 7 days in August. The I-129 H-1B - Specialty occupation - Extension of stay in the U.S. processing timeframe remains with no, 0, zero, advancement since the June 30 report. This is an indication that, as rumored, the USCIS VSC has been prioritizing new H-1B petitions (from the April filing to start on October 1) over H-1B visa extension petitions (as they have the 240 day period authorized employment and stay after their current H-1B visa expires) :(.
