Process to get a H4 for a government teacher (andhra pradesh)

Hi All,

I am on my H1-B visa and recently got married to a government teacher. As she is in a govt post, we are not willing to resign from her job, instead planning to apply for a long leave. In order to do this, I have a few questions

1) What is the process to apply for long leave? How long should I mention (max of 5 years)?

2) How long does this take to finish the whole process?

3) Any sample letter for writing a long leave application?

4) Any similar cases and their experiences?

I would really appreciate your quick responses. Let me know if you need more details

Thanks,

Rob

None of the above questions are related to US immigration. For H4 all you need is your H1 and your legal status proof.

Out of curiosity, is it even possible to get leave for 5 yrs??

Sorry for a delayed response.

Yes there is a possibility to get 5 years of long leave but the process to get that is too tedious as you have to get a GO issued.

As far as getting the VISA, dont we need to carry a no objection letter from her school? Isn't that mandatory for a VISA officer to ask her the same when the officer knows that the applicant is a government employee?

I would really appreciate your prompt response here.

Thanks,

Rob
