Got EB2 2011 priority date, is it okay to change skillset/position internally?

Hi guys,

 

I have been working with my employer since 3 years. My GC process has started with priority date in 2011.

I am planning to change my position internally with the same company. I heard that is pretty common for folks to do. But I currently work in c++ in virtualization area. And I am hoping to move into a javascript "UI Engineer" position. This new position is also related to virtualization but not exactly same product.

 

Since last 9 years I have worked in c/c++, but now all of a sudden I have developed a very strong taste for web technologies (particularly javascript).

 

Is it risky to change my skill set at this point?

 

Is GC based on skillset and experience prior to joining the company? Will leaving c/c++ behind hurt my chances of getting GC in future?
