EB2 query with approved I-140

Hello,

 

I need suggestions with my situation. My company filed for my EB2 GC process with priority date of June 28, 2008. Since the current PD is June 28,2008 and our company is laying off employees and i am one of them. In the interim I found another job and the company B is transferring my H1B for another 3 years. I have no issue with the H1B but my issue is with the EB2 moving forward to 28th June 2008. After waiting for almost 5 years, I feel little unlucky to miss the last stage of the process but at the same time lucky enough to find another employer.

 

My question is can I file for I-485 if my PD becomes current? One of my friend told me if the employer A agrees to give me offer letter for future employment, I can file I-485. I still have not talked to my employer A about it but I would like to get suggestions/feedbacks from the community.
