Hi Experts

I have got approved H1b in 2003 quota. I will be travelling to US in Oct 2013.

I wanted to convert my H1b to L1A.

I have following queries

1) Can I apply for H1b to L1A conversion immediately after I reach US?

2) Is there any legal requirement to spend some specific time in US before applying for the conversion to L1A.

Thanks,

Raj

You can't "convert" anything.

An employer would file an L1.

For an L1, you would have to have worked for the employer abroad for at least one year in the last three years.

Like Joe said, their is no convert here. And you cannot do anything here, an employer has to do it.

BTW when was your H1 approved?? 2003 or 2013?

Thanks Rahul for the reply. I understand that I cannot convert. It will be my existing employer who can do that.

I just wanted to know if its legally possible that my employer can apply for L1A when I am on H1B ?
