USMumbai Posted August 21, 2013 Report Posted August 21, 2013 Apology if i'm posting this in wrong thread but couldn't find an appropriate thread. Me and my wife recently got our green card. Received physical cards before approval notice reach us. In March, we went to India and returned back using AP and so got Parole I-94 card, which is valid till next year March. Now since we both received GC, not sure about the process of I-94 card. Shall we send them back to USCIS or some other department? Or shall we handover those during our next international travel? However the concern is, we may not travel outside US till next summer and so by that time our I-94 will be expired and certainly don't wish to handover expired I-94 card to anyone. I did think about getting that stamp (i believe I-551) on our passport from local USCIS office. However, as mentioned we did receive our physical cards around a week before approval notices (they were sent to lawyer's office) and so that option is now closed for us. Appreciate any comments. On the forums, i'm seeing mixed information and so its confusing to me. Please help. Thanks Sameer
pontevecchio Posted August 21, 2013 Report Posted August 21, 2013 You got your GC. The I94 is IMMATERIAL now. FRAME it or SHRED IT. In any case move on. Your GC Voyage is over.
tusharvk Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 just hand it over at the border next time you travel abroad. The fact it is expired does not matter as long as you got your green card prior to expiry date
JoeF Posted August 22, 2013 Report Posted August 22, 2013 just hand it over at the border next time you travel abroad. Even that is not necessary. With a GC, an I-94 is no longer needed. As Pontevecchio said, schred it, or frame it. This whole I-94 business is over for the OP. He can forget about this stuff forever.
USMumbai Posted August 23, 2013 Author Report Posted August 23, 2013 @ JoeF, @ tusharvk, @ pontevecchio - Thanks all for the useful info. As mentioned above, i rather frame it as my good old memory from H1 days.
