nooneissimple Posted August 19, 2013 Report Share Posted August 19, 2013 Iam currently working as a software consultant in CAP-GAP.My OPT-STEM period got completed,And My H1B will be starting from Oct 1st 2013 and valid till 3 years.I have few Questions regarding investments,please help me out if you know the answers:1.Can I invest in a company during CAP-GAP,it is a C-corporation started 2 months ago?I know the product and iam willing to invest,but any issues from immigration?2.I am planning to take over 90 % of the company,I mean 80% of stocks would be on my name and 10% will be on another partner (US citizen).Is there any legal issues? 3.Company value is more than 1 million,all iam investing is about 50k,rest of them we are pooling from investors but still shares will be on my name.is it ok?Thanks for your time and patience.... JoeF Posted August 19, 2013 Report Share Posted August 19, 2013 You could only be a director on OPT if the company operates in your field of study. And on H1, you can't be a director of the company. On H1, you could only be a passive investor. Link to comment
