Status Change - B2 to F1

Presently i'm on my Visitors Visa (B2) in San Diego, i have come here for my brothers convocation. I am planning to apply for the status change from B2 to F1. I came to USA in May and need to leave the country by November as per my I - 94. I have applied for the universities here and i have got an admission in the ********** University.

I have few questions pertaining to the status change.

 

1. Am i eligible to apply for the status change.

2. I have heard that status change conformation takes 3 to 5 months duration, if i apply for status change by end of august, i may get my conformation by December, but as per my I - 94, i need to leave the country by November. Can i stay here in USA after November while my conformation is pending?

3. what is the procedure for applying to the status change.

 

Can anyone please help me in this regard. Awaiting for the reply.

(1) You are eligible for a COS but I would strongly suggest you to leave the country and enter with a F1 visa.

(2) Well, it will normally take 2.5 months to get approval of a COS. May I ask when is your university start date? If it is September 2013 then you can not get your COS approved by that time.

(3) You have to fill a I-539 application and send all required documents along with a fee.

Unless you mentioned it to the POE Officer and he made a notation in your passport stating "Intending Student" a COS to F1 is not going to be approved.  Leave and come back with the F1 visa. Are you sure the college is on the level? Are credits likely to transfer if necessary?

That's why the visa officers are so strict coz of people like you who enter as Visitors and then change their status to live in US. And then you apply to fake universities and when these universities are closed down, you complain that you were an innocent student.

 

So many other genuine people suffer coz of people like you. USCIS should ban COS within US.
